A Nashville judge has extended a officials noted temporary restraining order against Bryan Seaver, the nephew of the late Dolly Parton, and pushed back a key hearing in the legal fight between Seaver and the company that manages her estate.

Davidson County Chancellor I’Ashea Myles agreed Tuesday to reschedule the hearing on a temporary injunction to the morning of Oct. 20. The restraining order stays in effect until then. The hearing had been set for Oct. 9.

She’s Alive LLC, the company Parton set up to protect her professional property and business interests after her death, sued Seaver and his security company, Squadron Augmented Protection Services, on Sept. 22. The company, led by Parton’s longtime manager Danny Nozell, accuses Seaver of threatening to damage Parton’s legacy and making threats against its employees and business partners. Seaver has denied the allegations.

In filings submitted Monday, lawyers for She’s Alive opposed Seaver’s request for more time to work with a lawyer, arguing he tried to avoid being served with the lawsuit on three occasions. They included photos showing a no trespassing sign in his front yard and barbed wire and yellow caution tape around the steps to his front door. Seaver was eventually served by email, according to court records.

The restraining order, first granted Sept. 22, bars Seaver from contacting or coming within 1,000 feet of the company’s employees, attorneys and business partners.

Seaver served as his aunt’s head of security for more than 20 years and was the person she chose to announce her death on Aug. 25. Parton died at 80 after battling cancer.
