NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Peyton Manning has thrown for touchdowns, called games from the booth and been inducted into both the college and pro football halls of fame. Now the former Tennessee quarterback can add country duet partner to the list.

Riley Green, the multi-platinum, ACM and CMA Award-winning singer from Alabama, released a new college football track called Alabama Vs Tennessee featuring the Super Bowl champion and MVP. The song came out through Nashville Harbor Records and Entertainment just days before the rivals meet on the Third Saturday in October.

The official music video puts Green and Manning in a honky-tonk with beers in hand, trading playful jabs about their teams and debating the rivalry. Green carries the Crimson Tide side and Manning the Volunteers side, but the chorus lands on common ground, with the two agreeing the fight is between the schools and not between the fans.

Manning was reportedly nervous about singing alongside Green before loosening up over a few beers at the table. The track is pitched as a new soundtrack for tailgates and game days in the heart of the season.

The timing lines up with a big week on the field. Tennessee is 5-1 after beating Arkansas 24-17, while Alabama is coming off a loss to Georgia in Tuscaloosa, setting up a matchup with plenty on the line for both sides.

The song follows Green’s latest album, That’s Just Me, a 19-track record released last month that includes five songs he wrote alone. It opened at No. 3 on the national album chart, his first top-10 album, and debuted at career-best positions across five charts.
