MADISON, Tenn. — TailGate Brewery founder Wesley Keegan announced that the company has purchased the Yazoo Brewing Company production facility and taproom in Madison, expanding TailGate capacity across Middle Tennessee.

The 6.5-acre campus at 900 River Bluff Drive includes a production brewery and taproom. TailGate said the site will become its primary brewing hub on a 40-barrel system while Yazoo beers keep being made there for distribution through R.S. Lipman. Brands under the Yazoo name joined the R.S. Lipman Brewing portfolio in 2025, according to the announcement.

TailGate said the Madison location will become its ninth Tennessee taproom and will add the company pizza kitchen program. West Nashville headquarters will remain open as a producing brewery and taproom because the company has outgrown current capacity, Keegan said.

Keegan offered employment to the entire Yazoo crew, including founder Linus Hall, who will stay on to oversee production and sales of the Yazoo line. Hall said he and his wife and business partner Lila are ready for a new chapter after 23 years and are glad familiar staff will keep brewing Yazoo beer.

The Madison campus will sit alongside TailGate taprooms in Nashville, Hendersonville, Murfreesboro and Chattanooga. Yazoo opened in Nashville in 2003 and moved to Madison in 2019 after outgrowing its Gulch footprint.

Financial terms were not disclosed. TailGate said the transition begins immediately and that a specific taproom switchover date has not been set. More details on the new Madison location are expected later this year, the company said.
