NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Nashville SC plays its last regular season home game Sunday, Nov. 1, at GEODIS Park in Nashville, and there is plenty riding on it even with the Supporters’ Shield already won. A win over Red Bull New York would tie the league record for points in a season and lock up an unbeaten home campaign.

Kickoff is 4:30 p.m. Eastern. Nashville comes in at 21-3-8 with 71 points, while New York is 11-15-6 with 39.

Home has been a fortress. Nashville has not lost a league match at GEODIS Park this year, winning 14 and trailing in only two games. Its 44 home points are already the most any club has collected at home in an MLS regular season. Just six other teams have gone a full season without a home loss, and Nashville did it before, in 2021.

The defense drives it. The group of Andy Najar, Reed Baker-Whiting, Jeisson Palacios, Maxwell Woledzi and Brian Schwake leads the league in fewest goals allowed, goal difference and shutouts. Another clean sheet would give Schwake 16 for the season, equal to the MLS single-season record held by Tony Meola.

New York has given Nashville trouble. The Red Bulls hold a 3-2-4 edge in 10 regular season meetings and have kept Nashville off the scoreboard in seven of the nine past matchups. Nashville did not beat New York until last May, then won on the road this summer for the first time in the series. Forward Julian Hall has 12 goals for the visitors.

The city’s Choose How You Move program is also celebrating its second anniversary at the Nashville SC Fan Fest before the match.
