Nashville – The Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) has made significant arrests related to violent crimes and traffic incidents in the city. The arrests involve Derek Randolph, 25, who is a suspect in a homicide case, and David Foxx, 31, who was arrested on multiple warrants including theft and domestic violence charges.

Derek Randolph was taken into custody on July 29, 2025, after a tactical operation was executed. He was wanted in connection with a homicide that took place on April 19, 2025, where he allegedly opened fire on a Jeep Cherokee at the Honey Suckle Market located on Lafayette Street. The driver of the vehicle, Michael Robinson, 37, was fatally shot and subsequently crashed into the side of the market building. In the incident, there were four passengers in the Jeep, one of whom sustained non-critical injuries. It has been reported that Robinson and his passengers were visiting Nashville from Memphis at the time of the shooting. Randolph faces serious charges including one count of criminal homicide and four counts of attempted criminal homicide, and he is currently being held on a bond of $495,000.

In a separate case, David Foxx was arrested on August 1, 2025, as he was wanted on 25 outstanding warrants. Charges against him include theft of merchandise, auto theft, domestic violence, and probation violations. Foxx was spotted driving a Ford Taurus near 16th Avenue North and Blank Street. When law enforcement attempted to apprehend him, he fled the scene, leading to a pursuit that ended when spike strips were deployed. The intervention caused Foxx to stop on the entrance ramp to Interstate 40 at Charlotte Avenue. Prior to his arrest, Foxx had allegedly stolen items from various retail stores in the area. He has a lengthy criminal history, including multiple felony convictions for gun possession, evading arrest, drug possession, and theft. As of now, Foxx is being held on a bond of $78,000.

The arrests highlight ongoing efforts by law enforcement to address violent crime and other serious offenses in Nashville. Residents are urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity in their neighborhoods as police continue their work to maintain public safety.
