His death marks the loss of a dedicated advocate for diabetes awareness and a committed family man who made significant strides in both his professional and personal life.

Born on November 8th, 1961, in Russell, Kansas, Shaw grew up in a close-knit family with his father, “Red,” mother Mary, and two older sisters, Melinda and Margie. He honed his leadership skills early on, becoming a proud first-generation college graduate from Kansas State University (KSU), where he graduated in 1985. During his college years, he served as a student body representative on the Athletic Department Advisory Board and was a member of the Junior Varsity KSU Basketball Team.

With over thirty years of experience in health care sales and marketing, Shaw established himself as an accomplished executive in the industry. He enjoyed a brief retirement beginning in April 2025 as a Merchandising Associate for The Home Depot, embracing opportunities to connect with others in his community.

Harry Shaw’s impact extended far beyond his professional achievements. He was deeply involved in Our Savior Lutheran Church in Nashville, where he held various positions, including Elder, Chairman, and Bible Study Leader. His commitment to his faith and community was evident, as he volunteered for numerous church ministries.

Later in life, Shaw was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes, which inspired him to become involved with Breakthrough T1D (formerly known as JDRF). His passion for advocacy led him to serve on the Board of Directors for the Tennessee Chapter in Nashville, helping to raise awareness and support for diabetes research and education.

Shaw is survived by his wife of 37 years, Kim, as well as their two sons, Morgan (and his wife Noelle) and Conrad. He is also survived by his sister, Melinda (and her husband Jim), along with several nieces, nephews, extended family, and two grandchildren, Morgan “Davis” and Charlotte. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, and sister, Margie.

In addition to his professional and community accomplishments, Shaw was known for his love of dogs, sports, running, and golf. His family described him as a man of integrity and strong faith, deeply committed to providing a caring and supportive environment for his loved ones. They expressed gratitude to the ICU team at Tri-Star Centennial – Nashville for their compassionate care during his final weeks.

A Celebration of Life for Morgan “Harry” Shaw will be held at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Nashville, TN, on Tuesday, September 9th at 11:00 AM, with visitation starting at 9:00 AM.
