Nashville, Tennessee – Carolyn Ann Wilson, a dedicated community leader and librarian, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2025, at the age of 90. Her contributions to the community, particularly through her long-standing service at Christ Presbyterian Church, made a lasting impact on many lives in the Nashville area.

Carolyn was born in Charlotte, North Carolina, and spent her early years there before moving to Nashville. As the daughter of Carl Reid and Kathryn Ashley Wilson, and sister to the late Donald Reid Wilson, she was an integral part of her family’s legacy. Throughout her life, her values and commitment to community service influenced those around her.

For over 30 years, Carolyn worked on staff at Christ Presbyterian Church, where she was a devoted member and involved in numerous church activities. Her long-standing commitment to the church is a testament to her resilience and dedication to serving others. In addition to her work at Christ Presbyterian, Carolyn was a proud member of the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution and contributed to the W.D. Holder Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy in Jackson, Mississippi.

Carolyn was also involved with the Board of the Christian Women’s Club and served as a past member of the Williamson County Humane Association. Her involvement with various organizations showcased her dedication to community welfare, women’s organizations, and animal rights.

She is survived by her son, Ronald Ashley Matthews, granddaughter, Carrie Kathryn Matthews (Michael) Stafford, and a great-grandson, James Wyatt Stafford. Carolyn’s family also includes two nieces, Melissa (Steve) Moore and Donna (John) Earnhardt, both residing in North Carolina.

A visitation for Carolyn Wilson will take place on Thursday, July 24, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Christ Presbyterian Church, located at 2323 Old Hickory Blvd, Nashville, TN. Following this, a Celebration of Life service is set to begin at 1:00 PM in the church sanctuary. After the service, she will be laid to rest at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens, located at 9090 TN-100, Nashville, TN 37221, with burial scheduled for 2:30 PM.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Carolyn can be made to various organizations through the funeral service’s Tribute Wall. This allows individuals to honor her legacy and continue her supportive spirit within the community.

Carolyn Ann Wilson’s passing marks a significant loss to her community and family, but her legacy of service and dedication will continue through the lives she touched. Her commitment to serving others remains an inspiration to all who knew her.
