Nashville, Tennessee – Brandon Wade Wheeler Passes Away After Courageous Battle with Cancer

Brandon Wade Wheeler passed away peacefully at home on August 1, 2025, after a three-year battle against cancer. Wade was 63 years old and is remembered for his indomitable spirit, profound sense of humor, and dedication to his family.

Born on February 13, 1962, to Don and Judy Wheeler in Tennessee, Wade quickly became known for his infamous sense of humor and dry wit, traits that were cherished by those around him. He grew up in a family where sarcastic humor was practically a competitive sport, crafting a jovial atmosphere that fostered deep connections with friends and family alike.

Throughout his life, Wade was a devoted father who made it a priority to attend countless events involving his two sons, Harrison and William. This commitment to his children extended beyond mere attendance; he shared in their triumphs and struggles, ensuring he was an active part of their lives.

Wade graduated from David Lipscomb High School and went on to earn his degree from The University of Tennessee in Knoxville. During his college years, he was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity, where he formed lifelong friendships that would continue to influence his life long after his graduation.

Instead of embracing a traditional midlife crisis, Wade found solace and joy in cycling. He enjoyed riding along the scenic Natchez Trace Parkway and became an integral part of the local cycling community, embracing the friendships and camaraderie that came with this passion.

Wade’s loving marriage to his wife, Jennifer, spanned 31 years, during which they created a home filled with laughter and love. In addition to his wife and sons, he is survived by his father, Don Wheeler (Jane Ann), and sisters, Wendy Sullivan (Wes) and Lisa Bell. His family and friends will remember him for his lightheartedness and unwavering support.

Wade was predeceased by his mother, Judy Wheeler, who had a significant influence on his life and values. As an individual who balanced seriousness with joviality, Wade’s legacy will live on through the stories and memories shared by those who knew him.

Funeral arrangements for Brandon Wade Wheeler include a memorial service at West End Community Church scheduled for August 9, 2025. The visitation will begin at 11 a.m., followed by the service at 12 p.m. Family members and friends are encouraged to attend to celebrate Wade’s life and honor his memory.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Wade’s honor to either the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center or West End Community Church. This gesture not only celebrates Wade’s fight against cancer but also continues his spirit of kindness and support for the community he loved.

Wade Wheeler will be missed dearly by all who knew him, and his life exemplified the importance of family, friendship, and laughter even in the face of life’s greatest challenges.
