Nashville – Levi J. Miller, a celebrated musician and artist hailing from Brentwood, TN, passed away in the early morning hours of June 21, 2025, at the young age of 25. His family and the Nashville community are mourning the loss of a talented individual who left a significant impact on those around him.

Levi, the eldest son of Lee Thomas Miller and Jana Miller, is survived by his parents, younger brother Noah, and sisters Emma and Jacy Miller. He also leaves behind his maternal grandparents, Jimmy and Carolyn Davis, aunts Cindy Rhorer and Julie Stacy, uncle Jeff Davis, and his birthmother, Jennifer Gingerich. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Robert and Jean Miller.

Born and raised in Nashville, Levi graduated from Renaissance High School in Franklin, TN, in 2018. He developed a deep passion for music at a young age, becoming an accomplished guitarist and performer. Known for his originality, he only performed his own works. He led his band, the Levi J Miller band, gaining respect in Nashville’s music scene. Levi famously hosted unsanctioned house concerts in his parents’ basement, which gained legendary status among local music lovers.

Levi was multi-talented, not only excelling as a guitarist but also as a bassist, drummer, singer, songwriter, and recording engineer. He recorded dozens of albums, accessible on platforms such as Bandcamp and Soundcloud, showcasing his versatility as an artist. He also had an affinity for storytelling, writing both short and long-form pieces, poetry, and creating visual art, including drawings and paintings.

Beyond his artistic pursuits, Levi was known for his empathy and kindness. He was described as a sensitive soul who connected with others, often lending a helping hand to those who went unnoticed, including elderly neighbors. Levi’s unique appearance as a boy, with remarkable lashes and a fascination for jellyfish and the ocean, contributed to his endearing personality. He affectionately referred to himself as “The Captain,” embodying his deep connection with the ocean.

Levi lived a minimalist lifestyle, valuing sincerity and originality over wealth or fame. His intelligence was often recognized, with many describing him as mensa-level brilliant. During family road trips, he created intricate games to entertain his siblings, showcasing his inventive mind alongside his musical talents.

A visitation for Levi will take place at Woodlawn Funeral Home in Nashville, TN, on July 21st from 4 PM to 8 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to www.ShowerUp.org, an organization dedicated to serving the unhoused in Nashville, in memory of Levi.
