Shooting Victim Recovers After McDonald’s Drive-thru Carjacking Incident

Nashville, Tennessee

The carjacking victim shot in the face in the midst of a horrific incident at a McDonald’s drive-thru is now on the road to recovery and has lived to tell his terrifying ordeal.

Unanticipated Incident

Bryan Sapp, who is a musician by profession, was stopping by a McDonald’s in South Nashville after a long day’s work. This was his first visit to this particular outlet. Little did he know that what started as a seemingly ordinary day would take a devastating turn.

While ordering his food via his smartphone around 10 p.m., an unknown individual held him at gunpoint, demanding his vehicle. In an effort to escape, Sapp accelerated the car, a move which unfortunately led to his attacker opening fire, critically injuring him in his face.

Valiant Response

Despite the terrifying ordeal, Sapp bravely circled the McDonald’s outlet, blaring his horn with hopes of attracting attention and help. He, soon after, witnessed the same attacker trying to commandeer another vehicle in the parking lot, whose driver was a female.

“I realized he was hurting someone else and opted to fight back,” remarked Sapp. “The thought of dying whether or not I resisted crossed my mind, and I reckoned that it was better to die in an attempt to fight,” he added.

In an act of sheer courage, Sapp rammed his vehicle into the assailant, trapping him between his and the woman’s car, grievously injuring the perpetrator and allowing the woman to escape unharmed.

Ongoing Investigation

Following the incident, the woman’s car was located the next day. However, the Metro Nashville Police Department is still on the hunt for the man who fled with the vehicle post shooting Bryan. In the wake of the incident, Sapp urges others to pre-order their food or refrain from using their mobile phones while waiting in drive-thru lines, emphasizing the importance of being aware of one’s surroundings and having the ability to drive off before a stranger gets a chance to approach.

Grateful for a second chance at life, Sapp is now focused on his recovery, looking forward to getting back to his passion – singing. Despite being traumatized by the ordeal, he showed extreme courage and quick thinking, potentially saving yet another victim.
