Jane Gaston, a graduate of Miami Springs High School and a devoted mother and wife, passed away at the age of 75. Jane graduated from Samford University in 1971 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English and began her career as a visiting hostess at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. Jane is remembered for her strong family values and her active involvement in church communities, having grown up as the daughter of a pastor.
In a serendipitous twist, Jane was set up on a blind date with Bob Gaston, leading to a marriage that lasted 51 years. Together, they raised two sons, Hugh and Jon, who now carry on her legacy. Jane is survived by her husband, their two sons, and five grandchildren, as well as two sisters and numerous relatives.
A visitation will be held on May 16, 2025, at Mount Olivet Funeral Home, starting at noon, followed by a memorial service at 1:00 p.m. The family will privately inter Jane’s remains afterward. Donations in her memory can be made to Samford University or Alzheimer’s Tennessee.
