NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee fans now know when to plan for the next two Saturdays. The SEC office has updated start times for its Oct. 17 and Oct. 24 games, and both of the state’s SEC teams hit the road on Oct. 24.
Tennessee plays at South Carolina at 3:30 p.m. Eastern, 2:30 p.m. Central, on Oct. 24, with the network to be decided between two options. Vanderbilt goes to Kentucky that night for a 7:30 p.m. Eastern, 6:30 p.m. Central kickoff, televised on the league network.
First comes a home Saturday for both programs. Alabama visits Neyland Stadium for the Third Saturday in October at 3:30 p.m. Eastern, while Arkansas comes to FirstBank Stadium in Nashville for a 7 p.m. Eastern, 6 p.m. Central game. That puts both kickoffs on the same day, three and a half hours apart.
The Vanderbilt-Arkansas game is the Commodores’ second straight conference game at home. Vanderbilt is 3-3 and 0-3 in SEC play, and Arkansas is 2-4 and 0-3. It will be the 11th meeting between the schools since 1949. Arkansas leads the series 7-3, but Vanderbilt won the last meeting 45-31 in 2018 and is still looking for its first home win in the series.
Vanderbilt will lean on wide receiver Junior Sherrill, who has 529 receiving yards this fall and has caught at least one pass in 43 straight games, the longest active streak in FBS. CJ Heard leads the Commodores with 43 tackles, and running back Sedrick Alexander sits third on the program’s career rushing touchdown list.
Elsewhere in the league on Oct. 24, Texas A&M visits Alabama at 3:30 p.m. Eastern, LSU plays at Auburn at noon, Oklahoma goes to Mississippi State at 3:30 p.m., and Ole Miss visits Texas at 7:30 p.m. Eastern.
