NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Tennessee Titans jumped out to a two-touchdown lead Sunday at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, then watched the Cleveland Browns chip away and win 27-24 on a 32-yard Andre Szmyt field goal as time ran out.

Coming off a win the week before, Tennessee had a chance to put together consecutive victories, something it had not managed in four seasons. Instead the team dropped a game it led for most of the first half.

Tony Pollard did nearly everything he could to prevent it. The running back ran for 129 yards on 25 carries and scored all three Titans touchdowns, the first Tennessee player with three rushing scores in one game since Derrick Henry in October 2021. His 36-yard burst capped the opening drive, and after a first-quarter interception he added a 10-yard score for a 14-0 lead.

Cleveland answered behind Quinshon Judkins, who ran for two short touchdowns to tie it at 14. Tennessee also wasted a first down at the Cleveland 4 in the second quarter, coming away empty after three straight stops. A Szmyt field goal gave the Browns their first lead before Joey Slye tied it at 17 from 29 yards with 8:41 left.

Deshaun Watson put the Browns back on top with a nine-yard touchdown run. Cam Ward then led an 11-play, 63-yard march that Pollard finished from a yard out with under a minute left, but Cleveland had enough time to move into range for the winning kick.

Through the air, the second-year quarterback finished 20-for-31 for 181 yards and threw one pick. The Titans posted season highs of 322 total yards and 141 rushing yards, while the defense allowed 491 yards, including 183 on the ground.
