NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Down two goals before halftime, Nashville SC came all the way back on Sunday and beat Red Bull New York 3-2 at GEODIS Park, finishing its home schedule without a loss and matching the most points any MLS team has collected in a regular season.
The win was the club’s 15th at home this year, a new league mark for home victories in one season. It also lifted Nashville to 74 points, equal to the total Inter Miami set in 2024. Nashville had gone into the home finale with 14 wins and two draws in 16 matches at GEODIS Park.
The comeback began right at the break. Andy Najar sent a hard ball across the face of goal from the right side, and New York defender Tim Parker turned it into his own net in the 45th minute.
Nashville pressed for long stretches after that and kept coming up empty. Hany Mukhtar and Sam Surridge each had a goal ruled out for offside, Reed Baker-Whiting hit the crossbar, and Maxwell Woledzi and Cristian Espinoza both struck the post.
The tying goal came in the 78th minute on another ball that deflected off a New York defender, this time from an Espinoza pass, and got past goalkeeper Ethan Horvath. Officials first flagged it offside before a long video review gave Nashville the goal.
Surridge then won it with a header in stoppage time, getting on the end of an Espinoza corner kick. After the final whistle, the team lifted the Supporters’ Shield in front of the home crowd. It is the second time in club history Nashville has gone through a regular season unbeaten at home.
One regular-season game remains. The Boys in Gold travel to play FC Cincinnati at Cincinnati on Saturday, Nov. 7, before the MLS playoffs begin.
